Once called Piazza Sant'Angelo, Piazza Petrolo takes its name from the beach below... from the square it is possible to admire a breathtaking view of the gulf and, especially at sunset, it fills with orange which makes the landscape unique.

Hermit's cave

The cave is characterized by the presence of stalagmites and stalactites which create incredible plays of shapes and colours. The calcareous concretions, in constant change, offer a show as suggestive as it is bizarre.

"Uzzaredru Sea Museum"

The museum, located in a fishermen's house, contains yesterday's and today's fishing tools and implements typical of the local navy and of the tuna traps, once operating not far away in the gulf (tonnara di Magazinazzi, tonnara di Castellammare, tonnara di Scopello, tonnara del Secco). The museum was created with the aim of making the community aware of the problems of the sea, the environment and the recovery of cultural heritage, making known the traditions, the history of customs and ways of being of the seafaring community ...
